Evolving in Conversation aims to inspire people to move, say and see things differently by linking communities, artists and libraries. This innovative multi art form project is led by Brighton & Hove Libraries Services in partnership with Photoworks, New Writing South and South East Dance.

The theme How Individuals Make Society Change is central to the project. Communities across Brighton & Hove, photographers, writers and dancers have been invited to pick books, people or key moments that they feel have somehow changed, transported or inspired them. The work created in response to this and the themes of social change is shared and celebrated through exhibitions and showcase days as part of Brighton Photo Biennial, National Libraries Day, B.fest and Brighton Fringe.

Collaboration is a key element to this project with communities and artists coming together to share, discuss and exchange ideas at key points throughout the creative process. Images, text and movements are continually being passed on so each phase of the project influences the next as the project evolves through the conversations between people about their experiences and the art they create.
